Mei Votum (My Prayer,2008)

Mei Votum (My Prayer, 2008) for solo Piano is commissioned by Chie Watanabe. The piece is dedicated to the composer’s mentor, Joseph Klein, whose passion and care in teaching has influenced her own philosophy of composition and perspective of education. The single movement is toccata-like and requires virtuosic technique. The contrasts of registers, dynamics, textures, and tempi create different color effects.
