       Da Jeong Choi is a Ph. D. candidate at the University of North Texas, USA.  Choi’s works have been performed throughout USA, Asia, and Europe including  the International Computer music Conference, the Aspen Music Festival, the Society for Electro-Acoutsic Music in the United States, Electronic Music Midwest Festival, Belvedere Chamber Music Festival, Society of Composers, Inc. Conferences, the Kentucky New Music Festival, Electronic Music Midwest Festival, CFAMC Biennial Conference, NASA Biennial Saxophone Conference, the 18th International Review of Composers, the Echoes of Space (Serbia), Rarescale: New music for alto and bass flute (United Kingdom), the Society of Music Research, the 2nd Sung Nam Choir Festival, the 24th Pan Music Festival (ISCM), the 27th Seoul Contemporary Music Festival, the 4th Pusan Contemporary Music Festival, and the 14th MBC Art Song Festival for Young Composers sponsored by Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation, (TV Channel 13, MBC,

South Korea).  Furthermore, Choi received various awards including the first prize from the Joong Ang Competition, Gold Prize from MunHwa Broadcasting Corporation Composition Contest for Young Composers, the second prize from the Con/un/drum Solo Percussion Composition Competition, and the second prize from Percussive Arts Society Composition Contest.  Moreover, Choi’s another artistic outlet is composition series titled Cantus Curatio (Healing Melody in Latin) for solo instrument, which is similar to the solo composition series by Luciano Berio and Vincent Persichetti.  Each piece is dedicated to victims who are diagnosed with a different disease.  Choi received BA from Dankook University and MA from Rutgers.  Previous teachers include Jung Sun Park and Gerald Chenoweth.  Choi has studied composition (ABD) with Joseph Klein, Cindy Mc Tee, and Jon Nelson at UNT, Denton, TX, USA.
