Neo Psalmody

Neo Psalmody 2015 for Tenor and Piano commissioned by Leo Day is composed for his faculty recital Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, TX USA.

Text: Psalm 1

God commends us to sing to Him with a new song according to Psalms 96:1 “Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth” (NIV). Worship is a convocation of His people for the purpose of meeting with God and building up His church and ministry in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
We worship God not only because He asks us to do but also because we want to show Him how much we love Him; show our hearts that we cannot live without Him. God wants our attention and we want to respond to that with a sincere heart and action.

I hope people who get involved with this event get blessed as the Holy Spirit prays, intercedes, for us and the Bible reveals our spiritual condition and evaluates the relationship with God when as described in Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
